Church Family Quilt

Encourage families, singles, and inactive members to make a quilt square that represents their family.

BEST SUITED FOR: Any Size Congregation

WHAT'S INVOLVED?

bulletDistribute quilt squares.
bulletEncourage families to be creative (example: one family had an apple orchard so they did theirs with a large red apple with their names on the apple).

DO'S AND DON'TS

bulletDO......encourage every family to do one.
bulletDO......encourage new families and singles to do one.
bulletDO......encourage long inactive members to do one.
bulletDO......hang up the squares (pin them together as they come in). You may need to do some rearranging from time to time.
bulletDO......make sure they leave an edge around their design, as room will be needed to sew it together.

bulletQuilt squares.
bulletQuilting frame.
bulletQuilters.

COST: Minimal.

Alternative ideas:

bulletHold a sampler quilting bee.  Over a period of 12 weeks, the group makes 12 different pieced quilt blocks. Then on a Saturday, gather to put them together.
bulletMake a quilt in one day working in groups of four.
