Church Family Quilt
Encourage families, singles, and inactive members
to make a quilt square that represents their family.
BEST SUITED FOR: Any Size Congregation
WHAT'S INVOLVED?
 | Distribute quilt squares. |
 | Encourage families to be creative (example: one family
had an apple orchard so they did theirs with a large red apple with their
names on the apple). |
DO'S AND DON'TS
 | DO......encourage every family to do one. |
 | DO......encourage new families and singles to do one. |
 | DO......encourage long inactive members to do one. |
 | DO......hang up the squares (pin them together as they
come in). You may need to do some rearranging from time to time. |
 | DO......make sure they leave an edge around their
design, as room will be needed to sew it together. |
RESOURCES NEEDED
 | Quilt squares. |
 | Quilting frame. |
 | Quilters. |
COST: Minimal.

Alternative ideas:
 | Hold a sampler quilting bee. Over a period of 12
weeks, the group makes 12 different pieced quilt blocks. Then on a Saturday,
gather to put them together. |
 | Make a quilt in one day working in groups of four. |
