I am
extremely pleased to invite you to attend the fifth annual Anabaptist Evangelism
Council (AEC) which will be held in Chicago, Illinois, on February 15 through
17, 2002. The theme for the gathering is "Connections: Young
Adults and the Church," led by Leonard
Sweet.
Leonard Sweet is a popular speaker and author of eighteen books, including FaithQuakes,
SoulTsunami, AquaChurch, and SoulSalsa. The 2002
Anabaptist Evangelism Council will also include attending the Axis GenX worship
service at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Illinois, and
meeting with young adult leaders from that congregation.
The Anabaptist Evangelism Council is hosted by New Life
Ministries, a
cooperative initiative among five Anabaptist denominations and two parachurch
organizations:
Representatives from each of these groups join together to provide resources,
consultation, and seminars in the areas of evangelism, growth, and
revitalization to churches in the partnering denominations. It is out of
this partnership that the Anabaptist Evangelism Council grew into an annual
event which features a current evangelism issue presented by the best scholars
and practitioners in the field.
The 2002 Anabaptist Evangelism Council will be held at the Sheraton Gateway
Suites at the Chicago O'Hare Airport, allowing easy access for both those
traveling by air and by ground transportation. You will find elsewhere
details on lodging and meals for this
weekend event and a registration form.
Be sure to note that, by registering before December 18, 2001, you will receive a
$20 discount on the registration fee.
